Psychology
Another world in a dream suggests a wish to step away from reality or a burst of unbounded ideas. Strange landscapes arise as the brain freely recombines memory fragments, and that freedom can bring fresh perspective to a stuck life.
Folklore and history
Tales of Tono includes Mayoiga, a grand house found deep in the mountains whose objects bring wealth. Legends of the Dragon Palace and hidden mountain villages abound, and in the 2000s an internet board spread the tale of Kisaragi Station, a stop that does not exist.
Summer exploration of a ruin or mountain haunted spot often means a long walk in blazing sun, with a high risk of heatstroke and dehydration. Individually wrapped salt tablets are easy to keep in a backpack for quick salt intake alongside water, and easy to have on hand while waiting in the car too.

This site's view
In this site's view, ask whether there was a way back. Enjoying it knowing you could return is a healthy mental holiday; being lost suggests you are too tired to want reality. In folktales and net legends alike, the terror is never getting home.
Going deeper: our reading
Other worlds in folktales and stories often have their own rules: time flows differently, eating the food means you cannot return, breaking a rule gets you expelled. They are places of freedom yet governed by laws unlike our own. In this site's reading, the rules of the world you visited show how you feel about the rules of real life. A world freer than reality, where anything is allowed, may reflect feeling cramped by the rules of your daily life. Being puzzled by strange rules you had to obey suggests you have not yet adjusted to the unspoken rules of a new workplace or relationship. This is our speculation, but being guided by someone you met there may express a wish for a figure to lead you through unfamiliar circumstances.
What to do on waking
Try one unfamiliar street or shop today. Tasting a little strangeness while knowing where home is steadies the mind.
