Psychology
A house often stands for the self or family. A bear entering it may express fear that your safe space is threatened, perhaps by a dominant family member or overwhelming change.
Folklore and history
Bears coming down to villages has long been said to mean a poor harvest in the mountains. A broken border between mountain and village was read as nature out of balance, and many places kept rites honoring the mountain god and guarding that boundary.
For checking an upper floor, a high spot, or the outside of a distant building at a ruin from a safe distance.

This site's view
In this site's view, the room tells the tale: kitchen for money and living, bedroom for rest, a child's room for family futures. A bear sitting still has already settled in as a problem you cannot evict; it returns to the mountain only when you stop ignoring it.
Going deeper: our reading
Bears that approach homes are often said to be drawn by the smell of food such as kitchen waste or fruit. In this site's reading, if you dream of a bear entering your house, it is worth asking what has been left lying around in your own home: a favour you could not refuse, a weakness you let slip, a closeness that went past a comfortable distance. Such things may leak out like a scent and call in a large presence. A bear smashing the door suggests someone forceful who crosses boundaries. One walking through a door you forgot to lock points to your own difficulty saying no. This is our speculation, but if you thought about driving it out rather than fleeing, you still have the strength to defend your space.

Turning a bad dream
In Japan, people once tried to turn a worrying dream for the better: a baku charm under the pillow, telling the dream to a nandina bush, or reciting an old dream-turning poem. Read the column on dream trading and dream-turning
Driving mountain roads or old byways at night for haunted-spot exploration often means navigating by phone. A strong magnetic mount that holds your phone to the dashboard keeps you from driving one-handed or fumbling with it in your lap.
