A symbol of control over your life. Driving smoothly means things are going well; failing brakes, a warning to slow down.

Psychology
A car lets you steer, choose speed and destination, so a car dream may show how much control you hold over your life. Driving means confidence in your choices; the passenger seat, trust in someone; a stranger at the wheel, fear of being swept along. A heavy wheel or failing brakes may express fatigue or haste as bodily sensations.
Folklore and history
The Edo-period artist Toriyama Sekien painted Oboro-guruma, an ox-cart with a huge face, often read as the grudge of someone who lost a quarrel over carriage spots in the old capital. The idea of obsession riding in a vehicle is old. Many Japanese still have new cars blessed for traffic safety. A smooth drive means progress; a crash warns against pushing too hard.
A natural-rubber door stopper you wedge into the gap between a door and the floor — a practical safeguard against one of the most feared scenarios in ruin exploration: the door you came through swinging shut on its own from wind or a tilted building, trapping you inside.

This site's view
In this site's view, ask what the rearview mirror showed. Nothing means you can look ahead freely. A face or a chasing car means a past or relationship you thought you had outrun is still behind you. As the Oboro-guruma tale suggests, feelings left behind try to catch up in new forms. Sometimes you must slow down and look back.
Going deeper: our reading
In this site's reading, a car missing from where you parked it in a vast car park reflects worry that you are losing the means or methods you have relied on. In a multi-storey car park where you cannot remember the floor, the route to your goal may have grown so complicated that you do not know where to start. Some people dream of running low on fuel and searching anxiously for a petrol station. This is our speculation, but that may be a heart whose energy is nearly gone yet cannot find a chance to rest. A sat-nav that keeps rerouting without ever arriving may mean too much advice is confusing you. Driving an old car you once owned reflects nostalgia for earlier ways of living. After this dream, check how much fuel you have left.
What to do on waking
Reorder one item in today's plan yourself. If you drive, schedule a break, and skip the wheel entirely on days you feel drowsy.
