Psychology
A field in full bloom can express contentment or the wish for it. Many colours suggest lively emotions; wilting flowers may mean your capacity for joy is tired.
Folklore and history
Flower fields have long evoked paradise and the afterlife; near-death accounts sometimes tell of beautiful flowers and a river, linked in Japan to the Sanzu River. Still, ordinary dream reading treats them as a lucky sign of happiness and love.

This site's view
In this site's view, did you pick the flowers? Bringing them home means you can take happiness into your life. Only gazing from afar may mean joy feels distant and you hesitate to reach for it.
Going deeper: our reading
Many famous flower fields exist because people sow seeds, replant each season and pull weeds. A sea of blossoms is nature's gift and also the work of unseen hands. Near the flowers, scent rises and bees and butterflies flit about with tiny humming wings. In this site's reading, people who dream of a flower field are noticing that the happiness before them blooms on effort they or others have put in. The scene matters. A single kind of flower stretching everywhere suggests a heart filled by one feeling or goal; many colours mixed together, joy found in varied relationships. Walking beside someone shows a wish to share happiness with them. Watching bees and butterflies may mean people will naturally gather around you now. This is our speculation, but planting flowers yourself shows you choosing with your own hands the happiness you will grow.
What to do on waking
Buy a single flower or pause to look at roadside blooms. If you feel worn out, prioritise an early night.

In Japan, people once tried to turn a worrying dream for the better: a baku charm under the pillow, telling the dream to a nandina bush, or reciting an old dream-turning poem. Read the column on dream trading and dream-turning
