Psychology
The house in dreams often stands for your mind or your family. Mice running through it reflect a vague restlessness, a sense that something moves out of sight. In the attic, it is overthinking; under the floor, unspoken complaints; in the bedroom, wavering intimacy. If your family did not notice, it may be the loneliness of being the only one to sense trouble.
Folklore and history
The sound of feet in the ceiling was once part of every house. During the first days of New Year, people avoided the word for mouse and called it yomega-kimi, now a New Year haiku season word. House mice were pests yet part of home life. A folk saying held that when mice suddenly left, fire was coming, so their presence meant the house was still safe.
For spreading out gear or setting down bags on the dirty ground of a ruin or old shrine site, one waterproof ground sheet gives peace of mind. Afterward you can fold it inside-out straight into its included pouch, keeping the dirty side sealed inside for the trip home.

This site's view
In this site's view, this dream holds a paradox: while it is noisy, things are still fine. The truly frightening night is when the footsteps stop. While family bickering and small complaints can be heard, the house is still breathing. If the noise irritated you, it may be someone's call for help. If the dream turns to a silent house, that is when to listen closely.
Going deeper: our reading
Mice are mostly active at night and are said to move through hidden routes such as wall spaces and attics. In this site's reading, people who dream of mice running around the house are often having nights where they lie awake thinking after the family has gone to sleep, or sensing that someone at home is busy with something out of view. Mice racing around the kitchen suggest small worries piling up about the foundations of daily life, such as money or meals. Mice running through a child's room may be a sign to pay attention to what is going on in the heart of a child or younger family member. This is our speculation, but if the whole family chased the mice in an uproar, trouble may bring everyone together. Even noise can be the warmth of a home.
What to do on waking
Say something to your family or housemates today that is not about chores. Even "How are you lately?" can let small worries surface.
