Psychology
A mummy shows past events or feelings wrapped away and left untouched — memories that keep their shape long after. Unwrapping bandages hints that hidden feelings are about to surface.
Folklore and history
Ancient Egyptians preserved the dead in hope of rebirth. After Tutankhamun's tomb was found in 1922, rumours of a curse spread, though they are thought exaggerated. Japan reveres sokushinbutsu, monks who became Buddhas through severe practice.

This site's view
In this site's view, ask who wrapped the bandages. If you did, you sealed your own feelings to avoid hurt. If someone else did, the unspoken rule of "don't bring that up" may be binding your words.
Going deeper: our reading
Mummification is said to have involved drying the body, using spices and resins, and carefully wrapping it in long cloths. It was a technique against decay and also time spent by the living to send the dead off with care. In this site's reading, a mummy dream is about locking things away, but also about having something precious enough to preserve. Whether the mummy felt frightening or sacred changes the reading. Fear suggests pressure from sealed feelings wanting out. A sense of the sacred suggests you treat memories as treasures supporting who you are now. An empty coffin may be the moment you realise something you held as a memory has already left your heart. This is our speculation, but being a mummy unable to move suggests you have become so guarded that you can no longer act.
What to do on waking
Write one line about a feeling you have never told anyone. Loosening the wrap lets you breathe.

Trekking poles you can use like a walking stick to cut the risk of falling on the way to an abandoned mountain shrine, an old tunnel, or an animal trail with poor footing. Steps and tree roots are hard to see at night, so using two poles makes it easier to keep your balance.
