○ A mirror of the mind Read less as luck and more as a mirror of how you are now
A voice from beneath the floor: hidden true feelings or a buried past calling. The words you caught are the clue.
Category: The uncanny (how to read this category)
Psychology
The floor is your foundation; what lies beneath is the submerged mind. A voice from there suggests true feelings or forgotten memories asking to be heard. The fainter the voice, the harder those feelings may be to put into words.
Folklore and history
The crawlspace under Japanese homes, rarely seen, often hosts ghost stories. Yet the phrase 'the strong one under the veranda' praises unseen support. Something buried beneath the floor is a recurring motif in kaidan.
A natural-rubber door stopper you wedge into the gap between a door and the floor — a practical safeguard against one of the most feared scenarios in ruin exploration: the door you came through swinging shut on its own from wind or a tilted building, trapping you inside.

This site's view
In this site's view, it is the voice of something that held you up but was never thanked, perhaps your own endurance, perhaps a person. Anger means strain is near its limit; sobbing means neglected grief; a cry for help means it is time to lift the floor.
Going deeper: our reading
Beneath the floors of old houses, jars of pickles and pickled plums were often stored, their flavour slowly deepening in the cool dark. The underfloor was also a place where something ripened unseen. In this site's reading, the age and tone of the voice are clues. A childlike voice suggests feelings you swallowed when young are now asking to be heard. An elderly voice shows your heart turning to what you inherited from family and ancestors, or to your parents' generation. An unintelligible murmur may be a true feeling still growing, not yet in words. Notice whether you answered. If you did, you are ready to listen to your inner voice. This is our speculation, but pressing your ear to the floorboards shows you are finally starting to notice the strength that has supported you out of sight.
What to do on waking
