A sharp-eyed real estate agent, first and foremost
Before he was ever a member of KARASU CHANNEL, Ishikura was a sharp, successful real estate agent. An eye for sizing up a property, a knack for closing the distance with someone he’s just met, an instinct for digging into a building’s or a plot’s history — the skills honed in his real estate work carry over directly into reporting on ruins and haunted locations.
His role at KARASU CHANNEL
On screen, Ishikura appears on camera just like Suzuking., but off screen he also directs and shoots as our cameraman. He’s the one building the shape of each shoot, running the camera, and turning it all into a finished video.
There’s one more role he plays that’s just as essential. When Suzuking. gets carried away at a haunted location — pushing a joke too far, or about to do something reckless — Ishikura is the one who steps in and reins him in. Part of the reason KARASU CHANNEL can hold to its stance of “reporting to record, not to scare” is that Ishikura is there on-site.
The one, refreshingly normal adult
Among a team that spends its time chasing hauntings through abandoned places, Ishikura is, in the best sense, just a normal adult. Level-headed, unflustered, grounded. That “normalcy” is exactly what keeps KARASU CHANNEL’s team in balance.
