Psychology
Being saved by an angel reflects wanting someone's hand in a situation you cannot face alone, and noticing that help is near. If the angel resembled someone you know, your mind may be telling you that person truly supports you.
Folklore and history
Catholic tradition especially values the idea that each person has a guardian angel. The Book of Tobit, included in the Old Testament by Catholics and others, tells of the angel Raphael traveling in disguise with a young man and helping him. Dream readers see rescue by an angel as a sign of strong protection.

This site's view
In this site's view, do not miss whether the angel asked for anything afterward. Vanishing without a request means you are wrapped in pure protection. An expectant look may hint that someone's agenda hides behind a kind face nearby; the warmer the rescuing hand, the more you should check it before taking it.
Going deeper: our reading
In a dream of being saved by an angel, the danger you escaped is a clue. Being caught as you fell from a height suggests that, despite fearing failure, you believe some support is there. Being guided out of darkness may foretell an important hint about which way to go. Being rescued from water or fire reflects a wish to escape a great wave of emotion. In this site's reading, whether the angel touched you also matters. Taking your hand points to a longing for human warmth. Wrapping you in its wings may reveal a deep tiredness and a wish to be protected without words. This is our speculation, but this dream may come especially to people who find it hard to rely on others and tend to carry everything alone. If you accepted help in the dream, allow yourself to lean on others a little when awake.
What to do on waking
Think of someone who helped you recently and send them a short thank-you.

Getting to a haunted spot often means unpaved mountain roads or gravel, where low tire pressure easily leads to a flat or worse fuel economy. Checking your tires with a gauge before you set out reduces the risk on rough roads.
