Psychology
A devil in your house reflects unease intruding on the place that should feel safest. Family quarrels, housing or money worries, or loneliness may be taking shape. The room it appeared in may point to the area of trouble.
Folklore and history
Homes are seen as places kept safe from evil, and in Japan a holly sprig with a sardine head is still hung at the door at Setsubun as a charm. Many Western traditions also place charms at doors and windows. A devil inside the house is read as a sign that your guard has slipped.

This site's view
In this site's view, recall how the devil got in. Walking boldly through the front door points to outside troubles brought home. Already sitting in a corner means a problem long ignored within the household. The more familiar a home, the more unnoticed shadows gather.
Going deeper: our reading
In a dream of a devil inside your house, the room it occupied is a clue. In the kitchen, unspoken frustration may have built up in daily routines like meals and chores. In the bedroom, something may be unsettling your rest or intimate relationships. In a child's or family member's room, the dream may reflect concern about that relationship. In this site's reading, whether others could see it also matters. If the whole family noticed and panicked, the problem has become a shared worry. If only you could see it, you may be carrying a concern you cannot share with your family. This is our speculation, but this dream may also come when a relationship at home feels strained, or when clutter keeps the house from feeling calm. On waking, tidy one corner that has bothered you and open a window to let fresh air in.
What to do on waking
Tidy and air out your entrance and the spot where the devil appeared. Fresh air can make it easier to start a conversation at home.

Turning a bad dream
In Japan, people once tried to turn a worrying dream for the better: a baku charm under the pillow, telling the dream to a nandina bush, or reciting an old dream-turning poem. Read the column on dream trading and dream-turning
