Psychology
Drawing dreams show rising creativity and the power to picture an ideal future. Free strokes or frustrating lines reveal how clearly you can imagine your wishes; the subject shows where your heart is heading.
Folklore and history
Japan has several legends of paintings so skilful they came to life; a well-known one tells of a boy painter-monk, tied up at his temple, whose mouse drawn in tears looked real. Pictures were long thought able to hold life.
Inside an unwired building like a ruin or abandoned school, placing a battery-powered sensor light that turns on automatically as you approach at your feet or by an entrance helps you spot steps or obstacles a flashlight might miss. No installation needed — just set it down or stick it on, even where there's no power.

This site's view
In this site's view, did the picture come alive? Movement means the future you imagine is starting to form; a drawing never finished suggests ideals so high the brush stops. Dark colours may be feelings you cannot say, surfacing as paint.
Going deeper: our reading
Young children draw whatever comes to mind across the whole page without trying to be good at it. As they grow, many begin comparing themselves to others, worrying about correct shapes, and stop drawing altogether. In this site's reading, a drawing dream can recall the self who expressed without caring about judgment. Drawing freely on walls or the ground like a child may mean a growing wish to express yourself away from rules and others' eyes. Being praised for a drawing suggests a wish to have your sensibility recognised. This is our speculation, but having your picture erased or torn may show that experiences of having ideas or hopes rejected still linger. If you could only draw in black and white, some colour may have faded from your feelings. After waking, doodle something in a margin without worrying about skill.
What to do on waking
Doodle today's mood in colours or shapes on scrap paper; the point is moving your hand, not skill.
