A symbol of imagination and a great leap; your talent will take flight.

Psychology
A winged horse joins the ground-bound strength of reality with the flight of imagination. Riding it well suggests growing confidence; being thrown may reflect anxiety about rushing toward an ideal.
Folklore and history
In Greek myth Pegasus sprang from Medusa's blood when Perseus slew her. Bellerophon rode him to defeat the Chimera but was thrown when he tried to fly up to the gods. Pegasus became a constellation and a symbol of poetic inspiration.

This site's view
In this site's view, Pegasus asks where talent ends and pride begins. Bellerophon was a hero until he reached for the gods. Where were you flying? Toward others, it is a leap forward; toward self-display, time to land and check your footing.
Going deeper: our reading
Greek myth says a spring burst forth where Pegasus struck the ground with its hoof, a spring later linked with the Muses of poetry and the arts. Pegasus could fly, but it could also bring water from the earth and refresh people. In this site's reading, a Pegasus dream asks whether your talent is only lifting you high or also becoming something you give to others. Flying alone on its back suggests a time to test your potential. Seeing Pegasus land and drink suggests a time to steady your footing and gather strength rather than soar. Clinging on without the reins may mean your readiness has not caught up with an exciting opportunity. This is our speculation, but handing Pegasus over to someone may show you are recognising a role in passing your gifts to the next person. Wings work best with a place to land.
