Psychology
Not finding a toilet suggests you have no place to vent. Often a real need to urinate is woven into the dream, a classic case of body shaping plot. Finding one you cannot use reflects holding back for fear of being seen.
Folklore and history
Searching for a toilet has long been one of the most shared dreams; many remember finding one in a childhood dream just as they woke. People have always sensed, from experience, that dream and body are linked.

This site's view
In this site's view, ask where you searched. At work or school, there are words you are holding back there; at home, you cannot even show weakness to those closest. A doorless toilet means you long for someone safe to open up to.
Going deeper: our reading
Japan's public toilets are known for being clean and easy to borrow at stations and convenience stores. That makes being unable to find one unusually unsettling. Many regions also say a god dwells in the toilet. In this site's reading, people with this dream are often so stretched that they cannot find even a simple place to catch their breath. Toilets that were all dirty suggest you do not trust the people or places where you might let feelings out. Waiting in a long queue that never moves hints at a habit of putting yourself last. Finally finding your own toilet at home suggests your heart knows the safest place is close by. This is our speculation, but if the dream recurs, drinking less and using the toilet before bed may change it.
What to do on waking
Watch how much you drink before bed, and see a doctor if waking at night persists. Write down one thing you have been holding back.
