[Episode 1] Take Village (Part 3) — A Solo Investigation of the Ruins. A Full Investigation of the Cursed Ghost Village
Watch on YouTube ↗Part 3 of Episode 1, “The Fourth Person.” The cast member goes through Take Village alone in a “solo play” segment.
In KARASU CHANNEL investigations, a location first explored by a group is often walked again by one person. Without voices and footsteps, the place’s own sounds are easier to pick up. Take Village, deep in the mountains, has almost no sound source other than the stream and the wind, which makes it well suited to this approach.
This part follows the solo walk through the interiors of decaying houses and along the village paths. The site is not a maintained attraction and the buildings are badly aged. We do not recommend visiting; this record exists to preserve, not to invite visits. The village’s history and the background of its rumors are summarized in our related haunted-spot article.
What to Watch For
When you walk a place again alone, conversation and footsteps disappear and only the wind and the stream remain. In this part, listen for what the camera picks up in that quiet. The star of this installment is the silence itself rather than any loud disturbance.
Our Take
The Urayama district that contains Take Village is also an area where an estimated 49 homes were submerged by dam construction. We have not found any source showing that Take Village itself was covered by dam compensation. This is only our speculation, but as the shape of local life changed around the completion of the dam, it seems natural that decisions to leave the mountain piled up. Seeing the silence of the ruins as the end result of those accumulated decisions may change how the footage looks.
