Psychology
A diamond can be read as unshakable inner strength or resolve you mean to keep. The hard, clear stone symbolises will under pressure, but it can also reflect stubborn attachments or perfectionism.
Folklore and history
The diamond is the hardest natural mineral, and its name comes from a Greek word for "unconquerable". It is April's birthstone and the classic engagement stone. Dream lore reads it as lasting love and firm will.

This site's view
In this site's view, watch how it shone. Clear sparkle means your resolve reaches others. A cloudy or scratched stone hints you hide every weakness to seem strong. Even the hardest stone, it is said, can split along one line.
Going deeper: our reading
Diamond is made of the same carbon as the graphite in a pencil; the difference is that it formed over long ages under intense heat and pressure deep underground. A freshly mined rough diamond often looks like a dull pebble. In this site's reading, people who dream of diamonds are often under heavy pressure and asking whether their suffering means anything. Finding a rough stone in mud or rock suggests your present hardship is growing an unpolished value inside you. Receiving one in a ring means a relationship is moving toward a deeper promise. Searching for a lost diamond may show you measure your worth too much by visible results or possessions. This is our speculation, but just as time under pressure separates graphite from diamond, today's weight is shaping you too.
What to do on waking
