Psychology

Gods of longevity raise the question of how to spend the years ahead. Their elder form echoes Jung's Wise Old Man archetype, appearing when you seek guidance.

Folklore and history

Fukurokuju and Jurojin are both linked to the southern star Canopus, and some say they were once one god. Both appear as white-bearded elders, Fukurokuju known for his tall head; Jurojin is often shown with a deer, Fukurokuju with a crane or tortoise.

A folding water tank for carrying drinking or hand-washing water to a haunted spot with no running water, whether in a ruin or the mountains. It folds flat when not in use, so you can keep it in the trunk or a disaster-prep bag, and it also helps during a long stakeout shoot.

Going deeper: our reading

Fukurokuju and Jurojin look so alike that they're known as the two Seven Lucky Gods hardest to tell apart. Pilgrimages to the Seven Lucky Gods still continue in many places. In this site's reading, this dream turns your eye to the small differences between similar things. Even days that feel alike each have their own flavor. Both gods appearing together hints at long-lasting bonds and kindred people supporting each other. If only one was clear, your heart may be choosing whether you need peaceful longevity or the flow of fortune right now. This is our speculation, but being handed a staff or scroll suggests it's time to inherit the wisdom of those before you.
