A symbol of fate and connection; a red thread means a good match.

Psychology
Thread is thin and nearly invisible yet truly connecting, reflecting bonds with others and the ongoing flow of your own feelings. A straight thread suggests smooth ties; a tangle, unsorted emotions; a snapped one, the end of a relationship or plan.
Folklore and history
The red thread of fate is said to come from the Chinese legend of the Old Man Under the Moon, who tied destined partners' ankles with red cord; in Japan it became a thread on the little finger. Tanabata's roots include a festival praying to the weaver star for skill in sewing — thread stood for both craft and fate.
Summer ruin exploration traps heat under a roof and walls, and combined with the walk there and back, heatstroke risk runs high. An ice vest that cools your core directly just by slipping ice packs into pockets at the sides and back needs no power and layers over or under your other gear.

This site's view
In this site's view, a thread dream asks who was at the other end. Being tugged by an unseen end may be hope for a bond yet to come, or fear of being controlled. If you were winding it in, you have begun gathering your scattered feelings yourself.
Going deeper: our reading
A single thread is weak, yet woven into cloth or stitched into a seam it becomes remarkably strong. The clothes we wear every day are countless threads crossing warp and weft. Being thin and long, thread also tangles the moment you look away, and untangling it takes patience. In this site's reading, people who dream of thread may be starting to feel their relationships less as single lines and more as a woven fabric. Watching many threads cross into cloth suggests that something you could not make alone is taking shape through your connections. This is our speculation, but struggling to thread a needle reflects frustration at small, persistent misunderstandings with someone you want to reach. Pulling a thread gently so it would not snap shows a heart taking careful care of a fragile but precious bond.
What to do on waking
Pick one tangled thought and lay it out step by step on paper. Once you find one loose end, untangling is easy.
