This is the trailer for Episode 3, “The Door to the Third Floor.” It covers the abandoned Hotel Céline in Shinanomachi, Nagano Prefecture.

Hotel Céline is a closed hotel that has long been known as one of the top haunted spots in the Chūbu region. We could not find public records explaining how it came to close, but the building has remained for many years. The rumored “pregnant woman graffiti” inside is always mentioned when the hotel is discussed.

The main episode has three parts, and a special Episode 3.5 summarizes the whole. The hotel is private property, and entering without permission counts as trespassing.

What to Watch For

The subtitle “The Door to the Third Floor” is the key phrase of this episode. In a large abandoned hotel, moving between floors is itself a milestone in the investigation. Keep the building’s scale and the rumored graffiti in mind as you watch the trailer, and the flow of the main episode will be easier to follow.

Our Take

The hotel may be called one of the region’s best not because of the number of supernatural events, but because it came with ready-made material for storytelling: a large hotel, eerie graffiti drawn by someone, and the strongly suggestive word “pregnant.” With these three together, people cannot help but layer a story on top. This is only speculation, but a rumor’s strength may be proportional not to what happened at a place but to how much meaning people want to attach to it.
