[Episode 19] Blue Sky (Part 2) — We Perform a Séance to Summon a Spirit, and Strange Sounds Won’t Stop.
Watch on YouTube ↗Part 2 of Episode 19, “Blue, Crimson and Black.” The crew attempts a séance at Blue Sky.
Ruins of Shōwa-era drive-in restaurants make us feel not only fear but also the lingering traces of an era that flourished with motorization. Since there is no way to confirm whether the rumors are true, we want to introduce this place including the loneliness of a once-busy spot being lost.
In this part, several strange sounds are reportedly recorded during the séance. It is entertainment with staged elements and we do not guarantee its accuracy. The building is at risk of collapse, including the circular terrace, so please avoid entering.
What to Watch For
This part attempts a séance. Such rituals are staged and we do not encourage imitation. When you listen to the recorded strange sounds, imagine what sounds the environment can produce, including a structure like the circular terrace that is open to the outside air and the noises of damaged building materials.
Our Take
What we try to do with sounds recorded on site is to introduce them only as one record. Sounds arise from many causes, such as wind, building creaks and the characteristics of recording equipment. Interpretation must be left to viewers. What matters is not to declare what the sound is, but to quietly face the fact that this is a space where people once gathered and now no one is. This is speculation, but since it closed relatively recently, around 2000, people who knew it are still near, and word-of-mouth stories about it may grow tails and circulate more easily.
