Psychology
Meadows reflect freedom and an expanding heart. Endless green can mean body and mind are recovering. Running or lying down shows whether you want to move or to rest.
Folklore and history
Many Japanese grasslands were kept by annual burning and mowing; after spring fires, fresh shoots burst from blackened earth. Old poems describe going out to spring fields to pick young greens. Meadows were places to feel seasons turn and life renew.

This site's view
In this site's view, a meadow is also the story of burned land. As shoots rise after burning, hearts that have lost something may dream of green fields. Withered grass means you are in the burning now; lush grass means renewal has begun.
Going deeper: our reading
Lying in a meadow watching clouds drift by may, for many people, symbolize the free time of childhood. Weaving clover into flower crowns or hunting for a four-leaf clover filled hours that had no goal or deadline, only contentment. In this site's reading, people who dream of meadows often wonder, amid schedules and roles, whether they may allow themselves time to do nothing. Searching for a four-leaf clover suggests a wish to find small luck in ordinary days; making a flower crown for someone, simple love and a wish to please; picnicking with family or friends, too little time with people you can relax around; a path stretching beyond the meadow, a new direction emerging from free time. This is our speculation, but the dream may remind you that aimless time keeps growing the heart, even in adulthood.
What to do on waking
